|
|
Welcome to the third chapter of my e-book about aster and mint-sage family plants. In this chapter a few other groups of plants are also mentioned, but only because they are included in incense, or tea mixtures, that include Aster and/or mint family plants.

Absinthe Clover 3
------------------------------------------------
A Quid of SD and Some Green Fae Did Come my Way. A tsp each of the some Salvia divinorum leaves and the same green Fae incense mixture from another day did come my way. Under the tongue and in-between the cheek and gum it did go. A sip of water to saturate it as it be. After about 20 minutes had passed, strange visions did come before me. Came before me in the darkness they did. A scene of a dragon face. The same dragon as a few days past it was. He came back to visit me again, and so did the crescent moon face, as well. They replicated around and around in a vortex there. A vortex in the darkness there. Some wormwood paisley did also form. From the paisley did come some pretty little faes. Little green faeries they were. Flying in the darkness without a care it seemed. Little faeries from the sagebrush. These little faes of green and gray did grace me with their presents. Like leaves they had green skin and hair, and gosmer wings I sware.
------------------------------------------------
The Castle and the Suit On more night, and another vile of the magic mint tincture did come before me. It came before me in the darkness. A tincture of the sacred mint from within did anoint mine tongue. Burn it must, and then the auroras came. Stronger they did become as three quarters of an hour did pass. A vision of another place. A palace, a fortress a castle of brick and mortar. Within a vision of mine woman nursing a babe in arms. To her breast a baby child. I see them there, but it is not the house I know. Then I am shifted to another part of this place. In a hall of doors and tiled floors. I am very still standing there. Then it occurs to me, for I am not me. I am not myself, and I am in a suit of armor there. However, the suit is empty, so I feel nothing within. It seems I am the suit, and I'm not inside of it.
I sense elves near me there in the hall. Elves in the hallway, but they are unseen to me. They are in the shadows of this lair. A time-warp shifts withing this place. The suit of armor becomes a space-suit. A space suit on a ship landing in a sea near an island. There on the island is a beach. Upon this beach there are three sun-bathing maidens. Two auburn haired twins and a blond. White string bathing suits they do have on. The three of them lay there on a golden beach. Upon the sand near the sea they do be.
------------------------------------------------ AGS Incense
One fine day a package came unto me. Within it was some well packed incense by the name of "Acapulco Gold Spice." The plastic envelope had the ingredients listed as; "Herbal isolates and extracts of S. officinalis, Turnera aphrodisiaca, Metha spicata, Rosa eglanteria and Stachys palustris(root)." The smell and appearance gave me the impression that the extracts were saturated upon the Damiana(Turnera aphrodisiaca). I have used all the ingredients with in this mixture in various guises. However, it has been a very long time since I've had any Stachys(Wood Betony/Marsh Wound Wort). However, I had previously only done Stachys palustris leaf as a poultice/compress or tea in the past. I have used both tea and smoking blends that contain Spear mint(Mentha spicata), garden Sage(Salvia officinalis), and I've had tea mixes with rose petals and hips(Rosa species.) in them before.

The day I had received it I did not have time to try it right away, so I put it away until the next day. ------------------------------------------------
The next day the Acapulco Gold Spice(AGS) came before me again. This time it was put into the scepter(hash type pipe) that was hiding near by were I was at. Upon lighting the pipe, the smoke was actually quite smooth and tasted pretty good. Again a strong taste of Damiana was permeating. I was able to inhale most of it in two inhalations. At that point, I noted a very MJ-like effect and feel. Even the tactile feeling was reminiscent of MJ. However, there were none of the MJ like visual changes at that point. At least not with this dosage(~1/6g). The buzz lasted more than an hour. ------------------------------------------------
A few days later a incense stick(joint) of the AGS incense was partaken of. it had ~0.4g of herb within it. The joint burned slower than one of plain Damiana or Sage would have. I think that the extracts saturated upon the Damiana leaf made for a slow burn.
This time the buzz did not have as much if the MJ-like tactility to it, but it did have some of the MJ-like visual changes to it. However, the MJ-like qualities soon shifted into a more Thujone* like one. Thujone which is found in common Sage, as well as some other herbs, can cause a floaty benzodiazepine-like feeling. However, the lethargy that can be associated with Benzodiazepine does not seem to be there. In fact I was able to think more clearly on this than i would have on a fair sized dose of tranquilizers or real MJ. Most of the effects lasted an hour.
Off hand I'd say that this stuff did better in a pipe that a joint. In some respects it reminded me of some other herbal smoking/tea mixtures I had tried before. Those, however, are stories for another time.

At the time I, er Jimmy, 1st ran across Stachys, the idea of smoking it did not come to mind. However, I have seen a few references to it being smoked for a euphoric effect. One may have looked through his herb collection to see if any Stachys was left, but none was found. several places out there do sell such as Wood Betony or Wound Wort. I've found it growing wild in Oregon before, but it has been a very long time since I have wild-crafted herbs there.
BTW, most of the effects from the above AGS mix was most likely from the common sage and Damiana in it.
------------------------------------------------ "The dried herb may also be smoked as tobacco, combined with Eyebright and Coltsfoot, for relieving headache."
"The fresh leaves are said to have an intoxicating effect."

Elf Tree Paisley
------------------------ ------------------------
Dream Tea, Kratom and SD. A couple bags of tea with a mixture of mug-wort, blue lotus, catnip and wormwood were brewed in hot water for more than a half hour. At the same time a bag of tea with ~3g of SD leaf and ~3g of kratom leaf were brewed with less than a half cup of hot water. The second tea was more like an aquas tincture. The first cup of tea was sipper per the regular method, but the second cup was taken a Tbs at a time. The second tea was left to set in the mouth for sever minutes >5 minutes per sip. After about 15 minutes, a series of opened eye visions came before me. The first one was a replicating crescent moon face. The crescents were facing to the right. Next an angel holding a baby child came before me, and that then faded to be replaced by a rabbit in a stove pipe hat. A geometric matrix of heart shapes replicating in a spiral then formed. At the center of a vortex, one of the hearts produced flames. The heart shape then shifted into a number seven. After that auroras of color continued to form for several more minutes. In the past I had tried just quiding extracts of SD and kratom together, but that method did not seem to work as well as this aqueous tincture method. However, the dosages of the SD and kratom were not as small this time either. There may have been some synergy with the other herbs too. Thus, this method seemed to have been a good one. ------------------------------------------------
Dream Incense One day the scepter came my way again. In its head it had a mixture of the green Fae incense, blue lotus stamens, Clary sage, Mexican tarragon and wild dagga. After the torch arrived, the incense was inhaled in three drags. A MJ like goofiness and drowsiness set in. Sleep soon set in. A vivid dream of a truck in a garage came to me. The drug is a deuce and a half. The type used by the military. There was a couple in the front seat talking to another man standing in front of the truck. The person in the driver's seat is a mousy brunette lady. In the cab to her right is a blond man. They are hippie like, or at least they seemed that way. The man outside oft e truck has black hair, and the people in the cab of the truck call him Lopez. Then they changed seats, and the blond man is at the wheel. The brunette lady then starts to talk out the back window of the cab of the truck. She seems to be talking to people standing on the bed of the truck. The dream then faded away at that point.
------------------------------------------------
A Dragon Dream A mixture of herbs were placed into another filter tea bags. One Tbs each of catnip herb and blue lotus flowers and herb were put into the filters to start. Then a pinch each of tansy, lavender, rosemary, Clary sage, lion's tail(wild dagga) and the green Fae incense mix(an extract of mug-worm wormwood and cat nip saturated upon catnip buds). The three tea bags were stapled shut, and then they were placed into hot water to steep for >1/2 hour. The tea was sipped over a period of several minutes. As usual it was a bitter tea. As sedation set in, I fell asleep. Many vivid dreams did follow. One dream was a rather colorful one about a dragon. The dragon had fanned out scales around his face. Most of his scales were blue-green and forest-green, but the scales on his underside and chest were yellow striped. The dragon was in a cave, and he can be seen at the front of the cave entrance. There were several other dreams too. However, those were not as colorful as the last one about the dragon.

Sally Maria as the Dream Portal
------------------------------------------------
Another e-letter from Jimmy did come my way today. The first part of this has to do with Lotus/water Lily, but toward the bottom the mixtures start. Thus, the mixtures do contain mint family plants. Such that, the theme of this blog continues.
------------------------------------------------
The Lotus Eater Chronicles One fine day Jimmy found a package that appeared before him. It may have been addressed to him, so he opened it up. Within it he found a few samples of various herbs. The samples included; Cape Blue Water Lily(Nymphaea capensis), Blue Lotus(N, caerulea), White Lotus(N. alba), and a few other herbs, too. However, the story this time deals with the three lotus species. In the past he had tasted of the blue lotus. However, the other two, the Cape lily and the white lotus, are new to him, Thus, he decided upon trying those. The first one he picked to test was the White Lotus. A tea was prepared for bio-analysis. The dried white floral material was placed, no packed, into a metal tea ball. ------------------------------------------------ White Lotus Tea The tea ball was put into a cup of hot water. It was allowed to brew for more than a half hour. It was an amber colored brew. It did not taste that bitter at all. It did, however, numb the tongue just a bit. He had had that same thing from the blue lotus teas before, as well. Soon thereafter a slightly glazed over feeling did set in. At that point, some bruises that he had sustained slipping and falling upon a wet kitchen floor earlier that day became less noticeable. The aches from them that is. He had the bruises upon his left elbow and his right knee. A little while later, after about 20 minutes, some drowsiness set in. The glazed over drowsiness reminded him of blue lotus tea, but it did not seem quite as strong. However, it was still similar. After about an hour and a half the effects from the tea seemed to fade off, and he found himself back to baseline. ------------------------------------------------ White Lotus Incense One morning Jimmy found the bag of white lotus flowers before him, once again. This time the floral material were packed into the bowl of his scepter. He inhaled deep five times. A buzz came over him soon thereafter. It was similar to a mild MJ like feel at first, but that soon shifted to an opiate like mild felling. That sensation lasted about two hours. After that a drowsiness set in, and he started to fall asleep. The smoke was sweet and mild. He wondered what it would be like to combine the white flowers with other herbs. However, such would be fodder for other stories to tell some other time.
------------------------------------------------
Cape Lily Tea One day a tea bag of the Blue Cape Lily came before Jimmy. A cup of hot water was also ready to receive it, as well. After letting the bag of the Lily herb steep in the cup of hot water, he did sip of the brew. It was a floral tasting tea, and toward the end of the cup it did numb his tongue a bit, as well. He did recall there was a mild sedation to it. It also seemed to make him aroused, too. However, he was too tired to put the energized aspect to good use. He soon, thereafter, fell asleep. He had dreams about a lumberjack, and a pond with lily flowers near a forest. However, the dream was just a dream, and it was not a lucid one.
------------------------------------------------
Cape Lily Tea and Incense One morning a scepter bowl full, ~0.25g of Cape lily, of the Cape Lily, and a tea bag of it too, came before jimmy. He prepared the tea bag, ~3g of Cape Lily, with some hot water and a splash of lemon. While the tea did steep, he torched the bowl. He took the incense of this lily in three drags of the scepter. The incense begot a mellowness. It had an intensity greater to that of the White Lotus, but it did not seem quite as strong as the Blue Lotus herb did. The initial feeling was one of a mild MJ type, but that faded into an opiate like feeling after a bit. kind of like a small dose of codeine or hydrocodone. Of course, the other Lily/Lotus did the same for him, as well. Upon sipping of the cape Lily tea, a soothing feeling did come over him. The tea did, also, numb his tongue a bit as did the White Lotus and Blue Lotus did too. A calm did continue over him. The numbness of the tongue did remind him of kava root to some extent. After that thought, however, drowsiness did set in upon him. Thereafter, he soon fell asleep. He slept hard, and deep, and did not recall his dreams from the nap.
------------------------------------------------
The other Blue Lotus: Nelumbo nucifera One evening another cup of an odd tea came unto me. This brew was made using a tea ball filled with some of the dried flower, about 3.5g, of the east Asian sacred lotus (Nelumbo nucifera). Like the blue lily of the Nile, it has, also, been called the Blue Lotus. After the tea ball had steeped in a cup of hot water for about a half an hour, I started to sip it down. The color of the tea was yellow, and the taste reminded me of pond, marsh or swamp water. Yes, I do know what such stagnant waters taste like, for I had fallen into, and swam, in such places in my youth before. A while after the cup of nasty tasting tea was finished, there was a vague watery feeling that came over me. However, that sensation was very short lived, and after about 15 minutes it was gone. This tea seemed too weak to visit again. Perhaps, an incense could be much more interesting, though. ------------------------------------------------ A Nelembo nusifera Incense Another day, and another incense stick came my way. This one had within its paper skin a half gram of the flowers of Nelumbo nucifera, or the sacred blue lotus of the east. Upon being lit, the stick did remind one in taste of a stale commercial grade tobacco cigarette. However, the effect that came over me was of a glazed over sedative type. Thus the smoke of such was much more noteworthy than that of the tea from the same. Even at 1/7 the dose the the smoke was, indeed, more intense. A half an hour later I still felt relaxed and sedated. However, at the same time I was a bit aroused, as well. The glazed over feeling continued on for about five hours in all. The idea of mixing this herb with other things did occur to one at the time. However, that is a story for another time. ------------------------------------------------
The Cat, the Lion and the Blue Lotus One night a tea bag with one tablespoon full each of Klip Dagga, Catnip herb and Blue lotus herb did come before him. He put the bag of the herb mix into a cup of hot water with a dash of lemon juice. The cup of tea then did steep for 15 minutes. After he sipped the tea, a relaxing feeling did start to come to him. It only took about 10 minutes for that to come over him. The feeling was a sedative type effect, but there were also some minor visuals disturbances in the darkness. These were kind of a minor visual patterning. This made him think that this mixture is of interest, and there may be some incense stories along this line to follow.
There seemed to have been some sort of interesting synergy here.
------------------------------------------------
The Cats, Victoria and the Turk One day Jimmy was visited by another cup of tea. The usual odd mixture of thing it was. It had one bag of mother-wort(L. cardiaca), 2 bags of catnip, and a fourth bag with a mixture of 2 tsp each of Victoria Blue(S. farinacea) and Turkish Mint(L. inebrians). The bags were left to steep in hot water for about half an hour. It was an amber and bitter brew per usual. It was a bit floral and fragrant too, though. A sedative feeling soon set in. Sleep soon followed too. His dreams were of a drifty and flash vision sort. Of people, places and things.
------------------------------------------------
Some incense came Jimmy's way on many many days. Here is what he had to say about them. ------------------------------------------------ Clary sage and Blue lotus 0.2g of Blue lotus stamens and 0.2g of Clary sage leaf were in the scepter wand. The torch also came before me. Four inhalations, and the incense was gone. Some minor auroras came before me in the darkness. The auroras had a flower peddle pattern t o them. Then there was also a drifty feeling similar to what would be from smoking a small amount of SD leaf. However, the effects soon faded into an mild opiate like feeling. The buzz fade after about an hours time.
------------------------------------------------
The Klip Dagga incense stick A smudge stick of the Klip Dagga came before me. A lighter did too. Seven drags of the dagga were taken. A mild sedative effect set in. It was a very MJ-like, indeed. It was much like that of MJ leaf. There was some changes in visual acuity, and later there was some minor visual disturbances in the darkness. This Klip Dagga, indeed, stronger than Wild Dagga herb. However, it is not much different than the smoke of common Mother-wort herb(L. cardiaca). It has been claimed that it is the Leonurine in both the daggas and mother-wort herbs that is the main active ingredient. If that is the case, Leonurine has a noted THC like effect. Although not totally the same, it is not dissimilar to such.
------------------------------------------------
Now that Jimmy the giant Guinea pig has assessed, or re-assessed, several of these herbs on their effects, he is going to go back to writing about investigations of some herbal mixtures. It seems there was some degrees of synergy between some of the herbs in question. Elsewhere on the net there had been mention of smoking mixtures that are alleged to be close to high grade MJ in strength. One still has doughts about this. However, the fact that such spicy mixes are being sold for the same price as some high grade MJs leads one to wonder. Thus far, there seems to have been some synergies between some of the herbs investigated. Of course, the notes about such things are still being translated from the Guinea pig claw mark notes.
------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another Salvia melissodora (Grape Sage). Grape Scented Sage Incense. This plant has a history of use in Mexico as both a medicinal tea and a condiment. In Mexico they grow pretty big >6 feet tall. Unfortunately the plant that I got died. Thus, only one experiment with it was done. One fine day the scepter loaded with o.3g Grape Sage came my way. Once lit, the herb therein was inhaled in 4 drags. The smoke was smooth, and it tasted almost sweet. A short term MJ like feel soon came over me. However, the effect was rather short lived. After ~30 minutes, I was back down to baseline again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Salvia canariensis (Canary Island Sage), A taste of Canary Island sage. Only one fair sized leaf was put into mine mouth that morning. It tasted nice and spicy. In its native Canary Islands this sage is used medicinally as a diuretic herb tea and sometimes as a condiment, as well. It does taste nice, so I can see why. After about 15 minutes. a strange surreal buzz cam over me. I was not really expecting such. I had just intended to taste the herb that day, so this was, indeed,a pleasant surprise. This herb has something to offer. I must look into this some more. Perhaps, some incense of it is in order. Such would be for some other day, though. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canary Island Sage Incense. A small amount of the herb ~0.15g came unto me in the scepter one fine morning. It was inhaled in ~2 drags. A strange rush came over me in ~10 seconds. A surreal buzz followed that. This, thus far, seems stronger than most of the other sages, but it is not as strong as SD, of course. This sage shows promise, but I will have to wait until I have more of it to work with. I will have to wait before more prunings can be taken. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another day, and another e-letter from Jimmy the Guinea pig. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leonotis menthaefolia (Mint Lion's Tail), Mint Lion tail Incense. One day 0.3g of the Mint Lion Tail leaf ended up in the scepter. It was inhaled in ~4 drags. Soon thereafter a very MJ-like sensation came over me. The strength of it seems close to that of Klip Dagga. The Mint Lion Tail plants plants, also, look a lot like a miniature, or dwarf, Klip Dagga would. The smoke of it had a residual spearmint like taste, as well. The smoke also seemed smoother than the leaf of either Klip Dagga or Wild Dagga. However, it was not as smooth as the flowers of any of them. A half an hour later the effect switched from an MJ type one to the floaty Leonorine feeling. Of course, that is the usual effect for these lion tail like plants. Drowsiness soon flowed, and some vivid dreams were recalled upon waking from a nap. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leonotis ocymifolia (Lion's Tail), Miniature Wild Dagga Leaf Incense. On another day, the scepter came back. Once again 0.3g of an herb were within it. This time the herb was Leonotis ocymifolia. This is a plant that looks like a smaller version of the other Wild Dagga(L. leonorus). After the torch came to light the scepter, the smoke was inhaled in ~3 drags. The initial effects were not unlike to that of some immature MJ leaf. The smoke was harsher than that of the mint lion tail or the wild dagga flowers, BTW. The buzz, of course, shifted the the usual floaty feeling after ~20 minutes. By about 45 minutes, I was back down to baseline.

More Sage Incense Notes: Even More Notes from Jimmy.
--------------------------------------------------
Variegated Autumn Sage Stick (Salvia greggii)
A 400mg paper wrapped stick of some Variegated Autumn sage came before me. After the torch lit it, a few inhalations of the smoke were partaken of. It was soon gone, and a hazy sensation came over me. It was more of a thujone like feeling than an MJ-like one. There were some minor visual alterations within the environment around me, but those too were of the thujone like sort. After only a half hour, the effects did begin to fade. I then did return back to base line.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Scepter Bowl of Velvet Sage (Salvia buchanni)
Another day did come, and another bowl of saga incense did greet me too. This time it was 300mg of Velvet Sage in the bowl of the scepter head. Thus, from the scepter's head to my head it was to be. The smoke was of a woody sort, but at the same time it had a vanilla flavor to it, as well. Four inhalation of the fumes, and it was gone. A vague sensation did come over me. It was a hazy headed kind of feel. There was some macroscopia notes. That is that things around me looked a bit bigger than usual. That, however, was followed by some drowsiness. Soon thereafter I did fall asleep.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mexican Blue Sage Incense(Salvia chamaedryoides)
On some other day, a little bit of Mexican Blue Sage did come my way. Only a small amount was there this time. ~100mg was all there was to see, but I put it in the scepter, anyway. 2 hits of the scepter did commence, and what was within it was gone. The smoke had a woodsy taste and smell, and a mild buzz bib come upon me. It was of the sort that has been had from a drag of the MJ sticks that the rats down the lane like to taste. However, it was still short lived, and I was back to baseline after less than a half hour.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Black Island Sage(Salvia brandegii) Incense
Once upon another day, another scepter bowl of sage did come my way. What was it this time I did inquire? "300mg of Black Island Sage in in the scepter to do with what you desire"; said the scepter unto me. The torch came to visit, as well. Th fumes were taken in only two drags. It was a very taste smoke, indeed.
A glazed over look to things did then did come. In addition to this minor visual disturbance, there was, also, a drifty feeling. The taste and sensations did remind me of the baby leaf sage that I had been tried in the past.

Tom and Mom: Kratom and Mother-wort Incense Another day, and another scepter load came Jimmy's way. This time the scepter head had been filled with 0.2g of common mother-wort herb and 0.2g of 10 Kratom extract, as well. After the torch came forth, the scepter was lit. Jimmy took five deep breaths. A buzz came over him quite quick. However, there was no notable stimulant effect from the kratom. The mix kicked in with an opiate-like effect. It is like as if the mother-wort had just over ruled the stimulant side of the kratom, but it had enhanced the narcotic-analgesic type quality of it just the same. The buzz overall reminded him of what might be expected from smoking one or two small hits of that opiated Thia stick weed from back in the 70s. It was primo MJ bud dipped/laced with opium. Well the effect of this mixture described at the top of this report did remind him of a small dose of the later. It just reminded him of such an effect really. It did not last all that long, though. Drowsiness, also, soon set in, and he fell asleep for a nap. Upon waking after his nap, he did wonder what an extract of the mother-wort herb might be like. However, that is a story for another time.
------------------------------------------------
Cat 'N' Lion 4X Extract. One fine day Jimmy's friend that rat, who fancies calling himself the "Mad Hatter", was tinkering in a shop someplace. Into a large jar he placed 16g of common mother-wort herb, 10g of catnip herb and 8g of wild dagga herb. To this was added enough ~70% IPA(iso-propyl alcohol) to cover the mix of herbs within. The process was repeated times three over a period of one week. After the IPA was boiled off, there was a black resinous goo in a glass pan. To that another 3g of catnip bud was added. It was mixed with the extract quite well. Then the water residue was allowed to dry off. 10.5g of an extract remained in the pan. The rat did then fill the head of the scepter with the 4X Catnip and Lion's tails(wild dagga and mother-wort are both known as lion's tail, BTW) extracts. The rat gave the scepter to Jimmy. Jimmy torched the scepter, and six tokes and the incense was gone. It had a thick resinous burn to it. There was a giddy MJ-like sedation that came over him. However, that effect soon faded into a benzo like one. "This mix is nice"; he thought. However, it is not as strong as that Green Fae Incense mix(catnip, mugwort and wormwood extract upon catnip buds). Both cause a tranquil floating feeling. How3ever, this new Cat 'n' Lion incense would not be as toxic as the Green Fae one. The effects of the cat 'n' lasted about two hours.
------------------------------------------------
The Lions, the Lotuses and the Turk: A Dream Tea and an Odd Dream. Another night, and another cup of tea came before me. Into the hot water was placed such as the following; a splash of lemon juice, a large tea bag of Turkish Mint( L. inebrians) herb, a fare sized tea bag of Mother-wort(Leonurus cardiaca), and a 3rd bag with a mixture of Blue Lotus(Nymphaea caerulea), White Lotus(Nymphaea alba), Blue Cape water Lily(Nymphaea capensis), Wild Dagga(Leonotis leonurus) and Klip Dagga(Leonotus nepetifolia). All of it was set to steep for a half hour. It was a drown, bitter, but fragrant brew. It was eluded with hot water three times in all. The last infusion being more of an amber color. About 10 minutes after the first cup was drunken, a noted buzz and an unsteady gate came over me. The sedative feeling had set in. There was also some minor visual alterations around me. This included visual pattering in the darkness. As drowsiness set in, I soon fell asleep. That is when a strange and disturbing dream came to me. It was a vivid dream about an earth quake. I was not me in this dream, but I was this African American man by the name of Mike. Mike found himself covered by debris. All is dark, and he calls out for help many times. Then some light comes to him. A young blond man with a crew-cut wearing fatigues pulls debris off of Mike. Next to the young man is a Dalmatian dog whining. The young man seems to be a National guardsman. He calls to some EMT/firefighters, and they full Mike out of the rubble, and place him on a stretcher. They tell him that the quake was Tuesday, and it is today Thursday. "I was trapped two days", says Mike. Then Mike thinks about his wife, an RN named July. She kissed him before leaving to work that Tuesday morning. Some other thoughts about people in the building he had lived come to him, but his thoughts were not clear. Then he drifted off, for he became unconscious. Then the dream, too, came to an ended.
------------------------------------------------
Here is another note about an herb tea made from some Klip dagga herb. Perhaps this should have came before the Klip dagga incense report, but the note was misplaced in the fabric of time, and it just appeared before me in the current state of mind. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Klip Dagga Tea A metal tea ball filled with ~3.5g of some Klip Dagga(Leonotis nepetifolia) herb came unto me. It was put into hot water, for that I could see. Steeped for 15 minutes or more, and a sip was taken then. A bitter tea it was, indeed, but such is no problem for me. For I'm used to the bitter herbs you see. A quarter hour more did pass, and a mild sedation did come over me. Even at that point I could see that this tea was stronger then wild dagga. A tactile feeling was felt, and some mild minor visions did come. Visions did come to me in the darkness. Vague visions of naked faeries with moth wings. They were translucent visions, and were only barely there. However, they were there none the less. A pleasant surprise at the best.
------------------------------------------------
Some More Klip Dagga Incense Once again, another incense stick did come unto me. This fine day it was a paper wrapped around a half gram of some of the Klip dagga herb. I have, indeed, visited with this herb before, but I am seeking a comparison with some other herbs of late. Thus, here i go again. Once the stick was lit. the smoke was thick. It was a bit harsher than when a lesser amount of the same had been burned. After the stick of incense was gone, I noted a feeling like that that would be from ~1/3g of that so called brick weed MJ from down south of me. After about ten minutes more the shift from the MJ like buzz to a floaty feeling took place. The euphoria at that point was of a more clear head type than MJ would be, and there was not the thinking n circles like from such would be either. This is a much more functional herb, and that is a good thing, indeed. The tactile type sting to the buzz like it can be with MJ is less with this Klip dagga herb, as well. After about ten minutes more, there were still some minor visual disturbances and enhancements of color around me. The visual aspect included some minor buzziness to the shadows around me. Also, a glazed over look to things was also noted. However, this kind of thing has been mentioned before with these so called lion tail/lion ear type of herbs. After about three hours more, I was back to baseline once again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Some more Common Motherwort Incense Another morning, and another incense stick did come my way. Oh my, what is it today. Today it is a half a gram of some Leonorus cardiaca inside the paper covered tube. After the stick was lit, I tasted of the smoke. Soon thereafter, again, an MJ-like buzz did come over me. The MJ like visual changes were there, as well. However, per usual the effects did soon thereafter shift. There was that floating kind of feeling., but this time there was some drowsiness noted as well. Other than that the effects were identical to the Klip dagga at the very same dose. A few hours later there was still some residual effects. Thus, I now do conclude that this one is stronger, and dose last longer, than the L. Sibericus at the same dosage.
------------------------------------------------ Lily and Clary Sage Tea Another cup of tea came before me. This night it is a mixture of one tablespoon of each of blue lily of the Nile and blue lily of the Cape, and another tablespoon plus a teaspoon of Clary sage, as well. The 3 herbs put into a tea bag and brewed/steeped for the usual ~ half an hour. Upon sipping of the tea, a mucilaginous and muskiness in taste was noted. Such would have been from the Clary sage. There was not strong bitterness like with some of the other teas, though. Perhaps, about 20 minutes later some alterations of visual perception were noted. Soon thereafter some drowsiness set in, as well. That was followed by some minor visual disturbances. They were like mild patterning in the darkness. When my eyes were closed, there was some mild and dreamy closed eye visuals. Something about maidens and dragons and caballeros. This is an interesting herb tea, indeed. At the tree hour point there was still a vague watery sensation. That lasted for about another half hour, and then I was back to base line. The over all effect was mild, but such a tea could make for a nice nightcap brew.
--------------------------------------------------
Even more notes from a Guinea pig named Jimmy.
--------------------------------------------------
Lotus & SD notes
--------------------------------------------------
Lotus & SD tea
One fine day before me came a cup of tea. In 2 large tea bags there was a mixture of 10g of Salvia divinorum leaf, 5g of Sacred Lotus(Nelumbo nucifera) stamens and flowers, a pinch of cinnamon and 2 drops of olive oil. Such has been allowed to steep in hot water with a dash of lemon juice for 1 hour.
After which time, the tea bags were squeezed of any liquid as the tea bags were removed from the cup.
The tea was sipped very, very slow. Each sip was allowed to set in the mouth for about 5 minutes. Such that, it took ~30 minutes to finish the tea, for it was taken as an aqueous tincture. After a while auroras of color started to come over me in the darkness.
Then the auroras started to form into more defined OEV(opened eye visuals). First a little boys face came before me in the darkness. Then the face morphed into the face of Christ, and then that scene shifted into a septagram fractal of his face. The vision then faded.
Soon another vision came to me from the auroras swirling before me in the darkness. This one was of an Egyptian cat lady. Like a cat lady statue of black and gold. Then she morphed into a tigress lady with the gold and black forming her stripes. However, I was there thinking they don't have tigers in Egypt.
However, as I'm thinking such other OEVs pass before me. In the end the tiger seemed to become a large striped caterpillar, and the caterpillar is leading into a vortex. As the vortex consumes the caterpillar, the visions fade. The darkness then returned, and only a surreal buzz remained. That to soon faded, and I was back to base line.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sacred lotus + SD + Anise tincture.
One night, 100mg of 20X Salvia divinorum resin and 100mg of 25X Nelumbo nucifera extract were dissolved into 3ml of a tincture of the essential oil of anise. This solution was taken sub-lingual.
After about 20 minutes, some waves of color came over me. Then I saw a vision of a pigeon turning into a squirrel. Strange, yes, but I had really expected more of such, and not much more followed. There was some introspective thoughts that came to me, but nothing that load. After about another half hour the voices in my head, also, did fade. Such that one was back to base line.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Sacred Lotus + SD incense Smudge Sticks
The First SD + NN Stick.
A mixture of the stamens of the Sacred lotus(Nelumbo nucifera) and the leaf of some Salvia divinorum were mixed into a plastic bag in a ratio of 6:4. Two smudge sticks were then rolled of it.
When the first was lit, it was taken in 4 inhalation, but only a mild buzz did came over me. A bit of wateriness was noted. However, only a mild effect was noted, and one figured that may have been from the Sacred lotus. One had not expected much of it though.
----------------------------------------
The 2nd SD + NN Stick.
On another day, the other smudge stick did come before me. That too was ignited, but more vigorous than the first stick. The first drag was mostly paper, and I coughed it up. However, the second and third drags were smooth despite the torch being upon it the whole time. The fourth drag was not torched directly, and there was little left, anyway.
Not expecting much to come of it. One walked back into the house. A washing machine was filling with water there. I when to check it, and all of a sudden things got very strange. The clothes in the washer formed faces, and the water formed words; "Do your work. Do your work." That, however, quickly faded, but I found it a surprise that it seemed to have worked. There was a surreal buzz that followed for a few minutes more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lion Tail Incense Stick Another day came my way, and once again the sunrise was greeted with another incense stick. This one had within its paper a half gram of the flower petals of the wild dagga plant. Once the stick was lit, the smoke from therein was pleasant, indeed. Much smoother than that of the leaf of the same plant. I had partaken of such floral material in the past, but that was a lesser amount in a incense scepter. In some way the taste was smooth like that of MJ leaf shake. The effect was likewise similar, as well. The buzz that commenced was very much like that of MJ at first, but it soon shifted to a more clear headed floaty feel. This is the usual for lion tail like herbs. Both the Leonotis and Leonorus genus of plants have an equivalent type of effect. The leaf of these herbs , however, can be rather harsh to inhale the smoke from. The flower petals, however, are much smother. The smoke of the extract from the wild dagga plant is also smoother than the herb, as well. The effects of the floral incense stick were notable for about four and a quarter hours or so. After such time, I found myself back to baseline. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Little Like Mary Jane One fine morning the scepter came unto me, again. This time it had within its head 0.2g of some so called Marihuanilla herb(Leonorus sibericsus). This plant is also know as Siberian Motherwort. After five drags of the scepter, the smoke was gone. The smoke was indeed smooth with this small amount, and a mild MJ like buzz did come over me quite quick, indeed. After 15 minutes there was a shift in the effect. A change to that floaty feel. The same as had occurred with the other lion tail like plants that had been tried before, The overall effect, however did not last even an hour, for the dose her was, indeed, quite small. More tests were needed on this herb, though. Later still an incense stick of a half gram and an herb tea of 2.5g would come before me, as well. The effect of the L. sibericus was a bit weaker then that of common motherwort(L. cardiaca), yet the price was like four time as much. Thus, I don't think I will go out of my way to get purchase this herb at such a price again. The seeds from such, however, might be interesting to grow. It would make a nice addition to an ornamental garden, after all. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Siberian Motherwort Tea One fine night a tea bag with 2.5g of L. sibericus with in did appear unto me. Into a cup of hot watter with a dash of lemon juice it did go. After it did steep a half an hour, I did partake of the tea. It was a bitter tea, but it was not as bitter as the common motherwort herb was. However, the common motherwort did smell better, as well. After another half an hour, some mild sedative effects were noted. However, the effect was still rather mild. An hour later again, and most of the effect was all but gone. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marihuanilla Incense Stick Another day did come my way, and before one did also come an incense stick. Within this one did lay a half gram of Leonorus sibericus within. Within the paper that is. After the stick came to be lit, the smoke was inhaled. An MJ-like feel did commence upon me. However, per usual it soon shifted in form. That is the buzziness changed to a flouting feeling after about 20 minutes. The initial effect was reminiscent of about a quarter gram of some of that commercial Mexican MJ stuff. BTW, it smelled similar to such as well. The feeling, however, was not as drowsy as that kind of controlled herb would be. That is actually a good thing I'd have to say. At least for the morning time of day, anyway. After about an hour, there was a noted decrease in the effect. The visual changes were a bit less than the same amount of L. cardiaca had been. After about another half hour more, the effects of this one were all but done for the day. Back to baseline as they say. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got another e-letter from Jimmy about 2 new sage tests.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gold Sage
One fine morning a sample of the dried herb of Salvia aurea (Gold Sage) came before Jimmy the 100kg Guinea pig, 0.5g of it was rolled into a cylindrical paper tube to be bio-assayed via incineration. After many inhalations of the smoke from such, a very mild sedative buzz was noted. It only lasted about an hour, and it felt along the lines of thujone in effect. When I looked this sage up on the net, I found that it is used for medicinal purposed in South Africa's Cape area where it it an indigenous plant. The information also indicated that there are thujone analogs and camphor in it.
BTW, this golden sage had a smell similar to white sage. Many of the native Africans also use this herb for the same type of medicinal purposes that white sage is used by native Americans in the USA.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Pineapple Sage
Another day came Jimmy's way, and another paper cylinder loaded with a 1/2g of dry herb came before him. This time it was Salvia elegans (Pineapple Sage). After about 2/3 of the cylinder was incinerated for bio-assayed, there was a interesting surreal buzz to be noted. The buzz did not seem like the sedative type, and it had some aspects that where reminiscent of MJ in some way. The info on the net, see Sergey Savelev's site bellow, indicated that this sage has potential anti-depressive effects. This would seem to be the case with the bio-assay. The effects of mild glazed over buzziness lasted >2 hours. This one seemed like it could be worth dreaming about again some time.
BTW, this sage does, indeed, have a smell and taste similar to pineapple. However, as it dries, the smell tends to fade just like the lemon balm like smell of S. coccinea tends to do. I've read on some culinary spice site that the fresh flowers and leaves of both S. elegans and S. coccinea have been used to flavor salads.

Pedicularis densiflora From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

------------------------------------------------
Another e-letter from that 100Kg Guinea pig Jimmy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An Indian Warrior Flower: Pedicularis Incense. One day another paper wrapped incense smudge stick did come my way. What is this I say? Something by the name of Indian Warrior ( Pedicularis densiflora; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedicularis_densiflora ). The flowers of which had been wrapped within the paper tube. The lighter came before me too. After the lighter lit the incense stick, it went up in smoke. The smoke tasted similar to MJ leaf, but the smell was sweeter still. A watery feeling did come over me. It was reminiscent of either a very small dose of shrooms or a very large dose of Coleus. It was a bit hard to concentrate. Just a bit of distraction I suppose. The wateriness and a mild buzz did last for about 2 hours. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Indian Warrior Tea One evening a tea bag of 2.2g of Pedicularis densiflora (Indian Warrior); http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedicularis . Did come unto me. The bag found its way into a cup of hot water that day. Once there, it sat for a half hour, or so. It smelled what one may expect as mixture of mushrooms and sun-opener tea would. The tea was just a bit bitter. After drinking of the tea, it took about 20 minutes to feel anything. A mild drowsiness then did set in. Once I closed my eyes, dream like visions did come unto me. A closed eye vision of an angelic person with curly blond hair. He was kneeling down to write in a book. Then he said; "We have to comment here". The sound of the voice was similar to they way sound was perceived on small doses of Ethocin(4-HO-DET) or Iprocin(4-HO-DiPT) had been. These CEV(closed eye visuals) were not like that of regular sleep. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Information about Pedicularis. Pedicularis densiflora, known commonly as Indian warrior, is a plant of the lousewort genus in the broomrape family. It is a perennial herb with stout, green or sometimes reddish or magenta stems and fern-shaped leaves, and long spikes of deep red to bright pink flowers with toothed petals. Like others of its genus, it is a root parasite, attaching to the roots of other plants to obtain nutrients and water. This species is a facultative parasite, or hemiparasite, in that it can live without attaching to another plant but will parasitize if presented with the opportunity. It often parasitizes plants of the heath family, such as manzanita. Indian warrior is native to western North America and is found in forests and woodlands at low elevation. The buds of Indian warrior are sold as medicinal herbs and are smoked for their psychoactive effects.

Skullcap Notes
Skullcap herb ( Scutellaria lateriflora).
0.5g of regular skullcap herb in a smudge stick, it was very mild. Not much stronger than say catnip at the same dose. This hewrb had been tested as a tea too, and it poved to be almost as strong as Valerian root.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Desert Skullcap (S. nana)
A smudge stick of ~0.4g was bioasseyed via insineration. A 0.15g load of S. nana in a scepter was tested on another day, as well. The effects were many times, perhaps 10X, that of the more common S. lateriflora. It had a very tranquelizer like effect that lasted >2 hours. The smell and taste were also much better than the common skullcap herb. However, this plant is rare, and the S. nana only grows from mid spring to early summer near where I live. The plants tend to die off by early July.

Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) notes
-------------------------------------------------------
Lemon Balm incense
Another day came my way, and before me lay a scepter of incense of ~0.3g of lemon balm(Melissa officinalis). In 3 drags it was gone. The effects were vague and weak, but the taste was strong. One of lemon with a hint of clove. In some ways similar to the Lady in Red Sage (S. coccinea). There tangy was a very mild sensation upon the lips, and that was followed by a mild sedative feeling. Such did not last long though, for within an hour the effects was gone.
---------------------------------------------------------
Lemon Balm Tea
A tea bag full of ~3.5g of Lemon Balm(Melissa officinalis) herb was steeped in a cup of hot water for 15 minutes. I've had such an herb tea before, but there were no notes taken on those occasions.
Once again, the taste was like a mixture of lemon peal with a hint of clove. After a few minutes of sipping the tea, I felt a mellow relaxed feeling similar to the type I've had from chamomile tea before. Lemon balm had mixed well with chamomile before too, but that is another story. After a few more minutes, another wave of mellowness came over me. The Lemon Balm tea seemed to do better then the smoke of the same. This herb could be of interest to quid. however, that may have been an experiment on some other occasion.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Wound-Wort Incense Stick
One day a 0.5g stick of Stachys palustris did come my way. In the past this herb had been used to flavor tobacco, so I assumed that it would be a smoke-able herb. After tasting of the smudge stick that was there before me, a vague buzz did ensue. After a quarter hour the effect did become more noteworthy. At that point, the effect was similar to mother-wort or wild dagga, but only about half as strong. An hour and a half later a floaty feeling was still noted.
-------------------------------
Wood Betony Tea for Me
3.5g of Stachys officinalis was brewed in a cup of hot water for a half an hour. Once I started sipping of the brew, another half hour did pass before a mild sedated feeling did come over me. There was a slightly tingling minty sensation upon my tongue, as well. There effects did last about 3 hours in all.
------------------------------
Snuffed Incense
A mixture of finely ground ~10X SD and 15X Kratom was prepared. About a 1/10g of the sooner and a 1/5g of the later. After said mixture was insufflated, a buzz did ensue. A while, ~15 minutes, later auroras did, also, appear in the darkness. The intensity was more like that of a quid then a vaporized dose. However, there did seem to be a synergy between the two incense preparations.
Among the auroras did form a mint flower kaleidoscope pattern. Then in that did fade, and a new vision did come before one there in the darkness. A strange vision, too. The lady, the maiden, in high heals and striped hose.Black and white stripes with a matching skirt, as well. The scene did fade and shift, however.
The auroras did return. They formed into a scaly sea scene. Above the water a sm-elf surfer did ride the waves. Below the waves was a mermaid looking up at him there. Red-orange hair and scales she did have. Such was in contrast to the blue-green scales of the sea.
After one and tree quarters hours did pass, the normal darkness did return.
-----------------------------
A Sweet Aster Member/ Chamomile Tea
A tea-ball of chamomile herb in came before me. It was placed into a hot cup of water. Such a tea was not new to me, but I'd never done a written assessment of it for effectiveness before. After letting the herb steep for about ten minutes, I took a sip. The tea has a mild pineapple like taste.
After about five minutes a mild sedation was noted. However, it was a very vague feeling. The sensation in some was was reminiscent of mug-wort tea, but it was not bitter like mug-wort. The chamomile also seemed to be milder then the lemon balm tea did as well. The sedative effect was. perhaps, about the same strength as catnip herb tea. After about a half hour, however, most of the notable effects from the chamomile were gone.

Salvia dorrii
I live in New Mexico, and like Arizona, next door, it is too dry in the summer and too cold the rest of the year for SD to grow wild. However, several other species of Salvias will grow out-doors here. Common garden sage(Salvia officinalis) and Mealy cup sage(Salvia farenacea) will even grow back from the roots in the spring. The later of those is indigenous to New Mexico. Last year I planted several sages in the garden, and I will have to wait to see which ones grow back this spring.
There is supposed to be some other Salvia around these parts that may have at least mild hallucinogenic effects. Salvia dorrii - Ute Tobacco Sage (mild hallucinogen when smoked) . Source wiki; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvia_dorrii
I've been doing an info and seed search about this one of late.
---------------------------------------------------------
Thus far, it is a pleasant smoke. The leaf had eluded a mild sedative buzz, and there was some degree of visual alterations. However, one may need ot take it up a notch, and make an extract of it. However, it may be a while before that is done. It has a smell and taste similar to Whit Sage(S. apiana) too.
----------------------------------------------------------
One later did take the dose up a notch(~1g), and the effects lasted a bit longer. However, they did not really seem any more intense. One also, found the S. dorri mixed well(synergized) with lotuses, daggas/lion tails and herbs with thujone in them(mug-wort, garden sage and wormwood).
---------------------------------------------------------- ,br>
SD + S. rue
Another note fell from Jimmy's cage. I picked it up, and this is what it said;
An extract made from 2g of Syrian rue seed meal was saturated upon 1g of S. divinorum leaf.
0.1g of this mix was then placed into the scepter. It was taken in 2 inhalation. The 1st whiff was held per 20 seconds, and the 2nd only for 10 seconds.
Suddenly, parallel visions encased me. The effect was that of a translucent other realm. As I moved from where I was, a vision came beside me of a gnome leaving his hole in the ground home. I was like looking at a reflection in a glass window. I suspect that if the dose had been a bit higher, I may have become the gnome leaving his home. However, the effect did not get to that level, and it faded off quite quick.
However latter that same day odd sensation of a stimulant like sort had been noted. However, I would attribute such to a combo of aspartame, caffeine(both from diet colas drank later that day) and the harmala alkaloids from the S. rue seeds.
In retrospect: plain SD leaf at the 100mg level usually does not do that much for me, so I'd say a synergy had occurred here.
